The Work of Christ — Justification

Unlike us, however, Jesus was conceived and born without sin. Unlike our father Adam and us, Jesus resisted perfectly every temptation of the devil. He lived a sinless life in our place.

Despite his perfection, Jesus allowed himself to suffer and to die, taking on himself the punishment that all of our sins deserve.

By his resurrection from the dead, Jesus demonstrated that his sacrifice had reconciled all people to God. All people are justified through the work of Christ (objective justification).

Justification is received by lost sinners through faith (subjective justification). All who believe in Jesus (and only those who believe in Jesus) receive full forgiveness of sins, the new life of faith, and eternal salvation.
